Yen Lin is an art writer, educator and curator specialising in photography. As the former Education and Resource Manager for DECK, a contemporary art space for photography in Singapore, she kickstarted the organisation’s first student and public education programmes. The programme has since reached out to more than 1,000 students from 30 schools. She was the Education and Outreach Programme Manager of the 2012 and 2014 Singapore International Photography Festival and has participated as a guest curator in Brighton Photo Fringe’s Open 2011. The photo book “The Epiphany of States”, which she contributed a foreword and essay for, was selected in 2012’s Photobook Show, exhibiting in Brighton and Helsinki. In 2012, Yen Lin created “Conversations with the Black Box”, a pioneering guide for students to learn about contemporary photography and subsequently a second edition “To Tell a Story from Head to Toe” in 2014. She is currently a programme manager for visual arts at The Arts House.
